On September 27, 1997, fourteen rail industry women, under the guidance of Linda Mullins, met to discuss the feasibility of creating a network to include all women in the Railway Industry. Together they recognized the tremendous need for a vehicle to encourage women to expand their horizons and strive for professional and personal growth in order to better serve their employers and families. They acknowledged the fact that many women never had the opportunity to not only learn more about their industry, but also what their contribution adds.
